I’ve always loved to write—I think it’s in my genes,” says Patricia Donohoe in reference to a long line of ancestors who were journalists.
With a B.A. in English/Education from North Carolina State University, an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., Pat has written in a variety of venues, from freelance writing and magazine editing to public relations and preaching.
• Dozens of articles published in newspapers and magazines such as the Casper
Star Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times, and In Wyoming Magazine, on topics ranging
from a famous chuck-wagon cook to the Portuguese man of war.
• Short fiction published in Modern Romance and True Love.
• Awards for fiction, nonfiction and poetry from Wyoming Writers Association.
• Dozens of feature articles as founding editor and chief writer for The Hill, the award-
winning alumni magazine for McDaniel College, Westminster, Maryland.
• Hundreds of press releases, articles and promotional products as director of public
relations and publications at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland.
• Dozens of sermons as associate pastor at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church from
2000-2003, www.spcworks.org, and as guest preacher at other churches.
Pat also assisted husband David C. Borchard with authoring The Joy of Retirement: Finding Happiness, Freedom and the Life You’ve Alway Wanted (AMACOM, 2008).
Pat is working on two Civil War books featuring a collection of Civil War letters from her ancestors who were newspaper publishers in southern Ohio during the mid-1800s.
